1. Purpose clause

A purpose clause may set out the purposes for which the loan can be used, or carve out purposes for which the loan should not be used. There are many purposes for which a loan may be used. The purpose of a loan may be as narrow as only financing a particular project or as wide as financing the general capital requirements of the particular borrower.
