A. Information of borrower

A person who wishes to pawn goods or to redeem pawned goods must provide the pawnbroker with information to the satisfaction of the pawnbroker regarding:

His proof of identity;
His place of residence;
If he is not the owner of the goods, the name and place of residence of the owner of the goods; and
In an application to redeem goods, the circumstances under which his application is made.

Any person who provides false information commits an offence and is liable to a maximum fine of HK$25,000 and imprisonment for 1 year.
