What documentation do I need to support my claim?
This will depend on the insurers’ claims procedures and types of insurance policy. Generally, you may need to submit documentation proving your loss. By way of example:
- Home and contents insurance: you may need to provide photos of the damaged items, copies of sales receipt for the lost or damaged item, receipts of purchasing replacement items etc.
- Medical insurance: receipts of the medical treatments, doctor’s reports etc.
