1. Can employers fire employees for going on strike?

Taking part by employees in a strike (as defined in the Trade Unions Ordinance) is not a lawful ground for an employer to dismiss them summarily. Please note that not all types of cessation of work fall within the definition. For example, if the employees protest about issues that do not relate to the terms and conditions of their employment, the cessation of their work will not fall within the definition and they are not legally protected.
